TATV Newsround: South Sudan airspace ambitions

As South Sudan prepares to announce its new sovereign airspace next week, we talk to Tom Perkins the CEO of NavPass about the collaboration between his company and the South Sudan CAA and discover how the implementation is happening in record time and will aid South Sudan’s ambitions to open up to air traffic.

Opening up is a theme too for MRO. Next week MRO Middle East show takes place in Dubai and we talk to one of the key players at the event, Etihad Engineering’s Frederic Dupont about the company’s post Covid plans and why the Dubai event is a good stepping stone to recovery.

South Africa is also looking to the future. Robin Rabec visits a former military airbase and general aviation field that has aspirations to become Cape Town’s secondary airport and to do for the region what Lanseria has done for Johannesburg.

Zambia is seeing modernisation and upgrading of its airports, and the ground handling services are not being left behind. Keith Mwanalushi talks to Jonathan Lewis, the managing director of NAC2000 about the plans.

And from Turkey we see the indigenous drone Askungar make its debut as a firefighter. The multi-role UAV was designed, developed and prepared for service in just 18 months and is looking like a valuable addition to Turkey’s civil and military fleet.

This, plus all the news and views from across India, Africa and the Middle East.
