A book for airlines CEOs and accountable managers is published

A book which addresses all the leadership challenges in a civil aviation company has been written by Dr Mark j Pierotti`s, commercial department director at Abu Dhabi Aviation.

Entitled ‘Aviation Leadership; The Accountable Manager,’ Pierotti said the book addresses all the leadership challenges in a civil aviation company for the top executive position, balancing the regulatory accountabilities as well as the fiduciary responsibilities to ensure a sustainable profitable company that operates safely and in compliance with the civil aviation regulations.


“The book looks at the differences between the US FAA, EU EASA and UAE GCAA environment for a civil aviation company whether it is a scheduled airline, a charter airline an MRO or any other civil aviation regulated company,” said Pierotti.


It is aimed at all senior leadership to ensure they understand and are prepared to meet their accountabilities and understand what exactly they are accountable for in running a civil aviation company.  


Pierotti has a PhD in Aircraft Engineering, an MBA from Edinburgh Business School. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. He also holds an Aircraft Maintenance License & a Private Sports Pilot’s License. He has held senior executive positions in airlines & aviation companies having been both a Post Holder & an Accountable Manager. He is also an adjunct Professor at USW, UWS & ADU lecturing in aviation & leadership subjects.
