Arik IPO move for flag carrier status
Arik Air are to consider going public in 2016 with Goldmann Sachs and Vetive Capital Management Ltd as IPO advisers in a move that could see it become the official Nigerian flag carrier.
The Nigerian government has suggested it would be willing to appoint Arik Air as Nigeria’s national carrier if it were to go public with its share holding.
After Nigeria Airways collapsed over ten years ago, the country has seen many airlines attempt to become national carrier.
Arik Air operates of fleet of 24 aircraft on domestic flights, as well as flights to UAE, the United States and the United Kingdom.
